Your 30-Second Video Intro: The Agent Playbook for Winning the First Impression

A consumer opens VIZO and sees you LIVE on the map. They tap your pin, your profile opens, and the first thing they see is your face — moving, talking, being a real person — in your 30-second video intro.

In that half minute, before a single word has been exchanged, most of them decide whether you're someone they want to talk to.

No pressure. But let's make sure yours is good.

THE CAMERA DECIDES WHO THEY TRUST

Real estate has always been a trust business, and trust has always been decided fast. A headshot on a listing page is a claim. Video is evidence. It shows your energy, your competence, and whether you sound like someone a nervous first-time buyer wants in their corner.

The agents winning on the VIZO network already know this. Their video intros aren't polished commercials — they're confident, specific, and human. That's the bar, and it's lower than you think. You don't need a production crew. You need thirty seconds and one good take.

THE FIVE-BEAT SCRIPT

Say it like this, in your own words:

Beat one — your name and your market (about 3 seconds). "I'm Maria Torres, a REALTOR® in New Braunfels." Anchor yourself. Location is the whole point of VIZO.

Beat two — what you do best (about 10 seconds). Not everything. The thing. "I help first-time buyers beat out investors without overpaying." Specificity is what makes someone think, "That's me."

Beat three — how you work (about 10 seconds). "When you reach me, you get me — I'm the one who shows up to every showing and answers my own phone." This is the anti-portal beat. It tells them you're the human, not a handoff.

Beat four — one human beat (about 5 seconds). Why you love this. "I moved to Texas in 2012 and I've never stopped falling for these neighborhoods." People buy from people they like before they buy from people they trust.

Beat five — the invitation (about 5 seconds). "If you're thinking about buying or selling here, let's talk — I'm live right now." Say the words. Give them the next step.

Five beats, thirty seconds. Write it down, say it out loud twice, then record.

HOW TO SHOOT IT LIKE A FOUNDER, NOT A HOSTAGE

The biggest mistake we see is agents shooting their intro like it's a deposition. Here's the practical checklist:

- Light faces you. Stand facing a window or put a lamp behind your phone. Never shoot with a window behind you — you'll be a silhouette.

- Camera at eye level. Prop the phone on a shelf, books, whatever. Looking down at a phone in your hand makes you look like you're reading a confession.

- Vertical, on your phone. Consumers will watch this on a phone. Record it on a phone.

- Quiet room, thirty seconds, one take. If you stumble, do one more take. Two takes max — perfection kills personality.

- Smile before you hit record. Sounds small. Changes everything on camera.

Do this and you're already ahead of half the profiles out there. Most video intros on the internet are either missing entirely or look like ransom notes. Yours will look like a professional who respects the viewer's time.

WHY THIS MATTERS MORE ON VIZO

On a portal, your profile photo sits in a list of fifty agents who all bought the same lead. On VIZO, consumers find you on a live map — you're visibly available, in their area, right now — and your video intro is the first thing they see when they tap through.

That means your intro multiplies the value of every moment you're LIVE. Same status, same availability — but the agent with a confident 30-second intro gets the tap, the conversation, and the client. The visibility is the network's job. The first impression is yours.

And here's the part agents underestimate: your intro keeps working when you're not there. A consumer browsing the map at 11 PM, not ready to talk yet, watches your intro, likes what they hear, and messages you in the morning. You wake up to a warm lead you earned in your sleep. Thirty seconds of recording, working around the clock.

THE 20-MINUTE CHALLENGE

Here's the whole playbook in practice:

Minute 1–5: Write the five beats on paper. Your version, your words.

Minute 5–10: Say it out loud twice. Time it. Trim anything over thirty seconds.

Minute 10–15: Set up your light and your phone. One take. Smile first.

Minute 15–20: Watch it once. If it's you, upload it. If it's not, one more take.

Twenty minutes today, and your profile is permanently better than it was this morning. There's no strategy session, no committee, no budget — just a phone and thirty seconds of being yourself on purpose.

The agents who get the most from VIZO aren't the ones with the fanciest profiles. They're the ones who are LIVE the most and look the most human when a consumer taps through. Your video intro is half of that equation. Go shoot it.
